Penta 20 Tablet 10 is used for:

• Managing erosive esophagitis associated with GERD, a condition where stomach acid frequently flows back into the oesophagus

• Maintaining the healing of erosive esophagitis, an inflammation of the oesophagus caused by stomach acid

• Managing pathological hypersecretory conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a disorder that causes tumours and ulcers in the pancreas and duodenum

• Handling duodenal and gastric ulcers, sores on the inside lining of your stomach or the small intestine

• Managing NSAID-associated gastric ulcers, ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines

• Helping to eradicate Helicobacter pylori when used in combination with antibiotics

When taking Penta 20 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take it with or without food.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

Penta 20 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Penta 20 Tablet 10 contains pantoprazole (20 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Inhibits proton pump: Pantoprazole works by blocking a system called the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in your stomach lining cells. This system plays a vital role in producing stomach acid.

• Reduces acid secretion: By inhibiting the proton pump, pantoprazole effectively reduces both stimulated and basal gastric acid secretions. This helps in relieving symptoms associated with excessive stomach acid and promotes healing of the oesophagus and stomach lining.
