Otogon Ear Drops 10ml

Otogon Ear Drops 10ml are used to relieve ear pain and inflammation, particularly in conditions affecting the outer ear. They help soothe inflammation and alleviate discomfort associated with ear irritation, minor injuries, or ear infections, as advised by a doctor.

Administer Otogon Ear Drops 10ml as follows:

• Ensure your hands are clean, and warm the bottle in your hands for a couple of minutes.
• Sit or lie down with the affected ear facing upwards.
• Gently pull the outer ear to straighten the ear canal.
• Instil five drops into your ear, keeping hold of your earlobe.
• Remain in the same position for about 5 to 10 minutes to allow the drops to penetrate the earwax.
• Repeat this process once or twice a day for no more than four days. If discomfort persists or worsens, stop using and consult your doctor.

Otogon Ear Drops 10ml are administered topically.

Otogon Ear Drops 10ml consist of three components:

• Lidocaine / Lignocaine (1 %): Lidocaine, the local anaesthetic, creates numbness in the ear's nerve endings. It does this by blocking sodium channels in the neuronal cell membrane, which stops pain signals from reaching our brain.
• Phenazone (4 %): Phenazone, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, reduces inflammation and fever by halting the production of prostaglandins, chemicals that increase inflammation, pain and fever.

• Keep Otogon Ear Drops 10ml at room temperature.
• Store away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain its efficacy.
• Ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use.
• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
• Check and adhere to the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Maintain good ear hygiene: Regularly clean your ears, but avoid excessive cleaning as it may strip the ears of their natural lubrication, leading to dryness or irritation.
• Protect your ears: If you work in a noisy environment or expose yourself to loud music often, consider using ear protection. Prolonged exposure to loud noise can damage the delicate structures within your ears, potentially worsening hearing loss caused by impacted earwax.
