Olkem Trio 40 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with fewer medicines. It is a combination medicine containing olmesartan medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker; cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker; and chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic.
Olmesartan medoxomil and cilnidipine relax blood vessels, while chlorthalidone helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water. Together, these actions help lower blood pressure.
Reducing salt, staying active, keeping a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support blood pressure control. Protect your skin from strong sunlight, as hydrochlorothiazide can make it more sensitive.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, as it can harm an unborn baby; tell your doctor straight away if you become pregnant. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, gout, diabetes, lupus, low sodium or potassium, a sulfa medicine allergy, or a history of skin cancer, and about other medicines you take, especially lithium, potassium supplements and painkillers. Your doctor will check your kidney function and blood salts. Contact your doctor if you have severe or ongoing diarrhoea with weight loss, marked dizziness or fainting, muscle cramps, extreme thirst, or sudden eye pain or reduced vision. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
