Neo-Mercazole 20 Tablet is used to manage an overactive thyroid and to prepare people for thyroid treatment.

Uses of Neo-Mercazole 20 Tablet are:

• Hyperthyroidism: Helps manage an overactive thyroid that causes rapid heartbeat and weight loss.

Neo-Mercazole 20 Tablet contains Carbimazole (20 mg). It works on the body as follows:

• Conversion to Methimazole: Carbimazole is a prodrug, it converts to its active form, methimazole, in your body.
• Inhibition of Thyroid Peroxidase: Methimazole inhibits an enzyme in your body called thyroid peroxidase. This enzyme plays a significant role in creating thyroid hormones.
