Moxigram Eye Drops 5ml

Moxigram Eye Drops are used to treat bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis. They work by stopping the growth of infection-causing bacteria, reducing redness, swelling, and discomfort. Regular use helps promote faster recovery of the eye.

Instil Moxigram Eye Drops using the following steps:

• First, clean your hands thoroughly.

• Tilt your head backwards and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a pouch.

• Look upwards and carefully squeeze the drops as prescribed into the pouch without letting the dropper tip touch your eye.

• Close your eyes gently and press lightly on the inner corner of your eye for about 1 to 2 minutes.

• If you need to use another eye medication, wait for at least 5 minutes before applying it. For more specific advice, consult your doctor.

Moxigram Eye Drops are instilled in the eye.

Moxigram Eye Drops contain moxifloxacin (0.5%), which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Inhibition of DNA Gyrase and Topoisomerase IV: Moxifloxacin works by blocking two essential bacterial enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes play a significant role in DNA replication, transcription, repair and recombination within bacterial cells.

• Prevention of Bacterial Proliferation: By inhibiting these crucial enzymes, moxifloxacin effectively stops the multiplication and spread of bacterial cells, which leads to control over and eventual elimination of the infection.

• Store Moxigram Eye Drops at room temperature, specifically between 2°C to 25°C.

• Keep them shielded from light and tightly sealed when not in use.

• Place the medicine in a secure location, out of reach of children.

• Use the eye drops within one month after opening the bottle.

• Always check the expiry date before use.

• To prevent further bacterial infections, maintain good hygiene practices, especially around your eyes. This includes regularly washing your hands and avoiding touching your eyes with dirty hands.

• If you wear contact lenses, refrain from using them until the bacterial conjunctivitis has completely cleared up. This can help prevent re-infection and allow your eyes to heal faster.
