CompositionMinotas Er 65 Tablet 10 is a tetracycline antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections affecting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, chest, skin and urinary tract, including gonorrhoea. It contains minocycline.
Minocycline works by stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to grow and multiply, which clears the infection, and it is also used to reduce the spread of infection in people who carry meningitis-causing bacteria without symptoms.
Take this extended-release tablet with a full glass of water, and stay upright for at least thirty minutes afterwards, since tetracyclines can irritate the food pipe if you lie down too soon. Complete the full course exactly as prescribed.
Avoid taking this medicine with dairy products, antacids, or iron or calcium supplements, as these reduce its absorption. This medicine increases sensitivity to sunlight, so use sun protection, and it should not be used in pregnancy or in children under eight years, as it can affect developing teeth and bones.
