Minirin 0.1 mg Tablet contains Desmopressin, a synthetic version of the naturally occurring antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin). It is primarily used to manage central diabetes insipidus, a condition where the body produces excessive amounts of urine and causes extreme thirst. By helping the kidneys conserve water, it regulates urine output and restores the body's fluid balance.
Beyond diabetes insipidus, this medication is also effective for managing primary nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting) in children over the age of six. It may also be prescribed following pituitary gland surgery to regulate fluid levels. When taking this medicine, it is very important to limit your fluid intake, especially in the evening, to prevent low sodium levels (hyponatremia). Consult your doctor immediately if you experience persistent headaches, nausea, or confusion while on this medication.
