Minirin 0.1mg Tablet is used to manage central diabetes insipidus, which causes the body to pass too much urine and feel very thirsty, to control bedwetting in children over six, and to manage excessive urination after pituitary surgery.
It contains desmopressin, a man-made form of the natural hormone that helps the kidneys hold on to water. It works by reducing the amount of urine the body makes.
Take it exactly as prescribed. It is very important to limit your fluid intake as advised, especially in the evening, to stop your blood sodium falling too low.
Tell your doctor about any heart, kidney or fluid-balance problems before use. Report persistent headache, feeling sick, confusion or marked drowsiness without delay, as these can be signs of low blood sodium from drinking too much fluid.
