Minirin 0.2mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat central diabetes insipidus, a condition where the body produces insufficient antidiuretic hormone, leading to extreme thirst and frequent urination. It is also used to manage primary nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting) in children.
It contains desmopressin, a synthetic analogue of the natural hormone vasopressin. It works by acting on the kidneys to increase water reabsorption, reducing the excessive volume of urine produced and helping maintain normal fluid balance.
Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Fluid intake must be restricted during its use, especially when managing bedwetting, to prevent water retention and low blood sodium levels.
Before use, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, high blood pressure, fluid retention, or electrolyte imbalances. Seek medical attention if you experience severe headaches, nausea, confusion, or a sudden change in weight.
