It is a combination medicine containing finasteride (which blocks the hormone linked to pattern hair loss) and minoxidil (which stimulates hair follicles), and belongs to a class of medicines called topical hair growth treatments.
This medicine works by reducing the effect of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to pattern hair loss, while minoxidil improves blood flow to the hair follicles, prolonging the growth phase of hair and increasing follicle size. Apply the recommended amount to the affected area of the scalp as directed by your doctor, then wash your hands thoroughly and avoid contact with your eyes, nose and mouth.
Visible results usually take several months of regular use, so continue for the full time your doctor recommends even if you see no early change. If you stop, any new hair growth may be gradually lost.
