Faropenem (100 Mg)

Merosure-O Dry Syrup is primarily used to manage serious bacterial infections in children. It contains meropenem, a carbapenem antibiotic, and is generally reserved for infections that need broad, powerful antibiotic cover.

Meropenem works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria, and it is effective against a wide range of bacteria, including some resistant to other antibiotics.

Give this syrup to your child using the measuring cup provided, at the dose your child's doctor prescribes based on age and weight, and complete the full course even if your child feels better early.

Tell your child's doctor if your child has a known allergy to penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. Report any severe or persistent loose motions (diarrhoea), rash, or allergic reaction promptly.

Merosure-O Dry Syrup is used for managing severe respiratory tract infections in children and helping with urinary tract infections in paediatric patients.

Uses of Merosure O Orange Flavour Dry Syrup 60ml are:

Administer Merosure-O Dry Syrup to your child as follows:

Shake the bottle well before each use.

Give this medicine orally, with or without food, at the same time each day.
Remember to reconstitute the dry syrup with water before giving it to your child. Follow the instructions provided on how to do this.
If your child has diabetes, consult their doctor before giving this medicine as it is sugar-based.

Inhibits Cell Wall Synthesis: Faropenem inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). PBPs are vital enzymes that assist in forming the peptidoglycan layer in bacterial cell walls.
Induces Bacterial Cell Death: By disrupting cell wall synthesis, Faropenem triggers cell lysis a process where the bacterial cells break down leading to their death. This action helps in effectively managing various bacterial infections prevalent among children.
