Lochol 10 MG Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing high cholesterol levels

• Preventing cardiovascular diseases in at-risk individuals

• Secondary prevention of heart attacks and strokes

• Managing combined hyperlipidaemia

• Primary prevention in patients with multiple risk factors

• Lowering the risk of cardiovascular complications

Follow these instructions while taking Lochol 10 MG Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.

Lochol 10 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Lochol 10 MG Tablet 10 contains lovastatin (10 mg), which works in the following ways:

• HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibition: Lovastatin blocks an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase in your liver, which plays a crucial role in producing cholesterol within your body.

• Decreased Liver Cholesterol Production: By inhibiting this key enzyme, the medicine effectively reduces the amount of cholesterol your liver makes, leading to lower overall cholesterol levels in your bloodstream.

• Enhanced LDL Receptor Activity: Lovastatin increases your liver's ability to remove LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) from your blood circulation, further reducing cholesterol levels.
