IUP INJECTION 5 ML is used in the following cases:

• Managing iron deficiency anaemia: This condition occurs when the body lacks sufficient iron to produce enough healthy red blood cells.
• Assisting patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD): It's particularly beneficial for those who are both dialysis-dependent and non-dialysis dependent.
• Providing an alternative when oral iron supplements fail: This medicine is typically given when oral iron supplements aren't effective or can't be used.

IUP INJECTION 5 ML is administered intravenously.

IUP INJECTION 5 ML contains elemental iron (20 mg) and works in the body as follows:

• Iron Sucrose Dissociation: Once administered intravenously, the iron sucrose complex in IUP INJECTION 5 ML disintegrates into iron and sucrose.
• Absorption by Reticuloendothelial System: The released iron is then processed by parts of your body known as the reticuloendothelial system. This system includes your liver, spleen, and bone marrow.
• Haemoglobin Formation: In the bone marrow, this iron gets incorporated into haemoglobin within developing red blood cells.
• Correction of Iron Deficiency Anaemia: Through these processes, IUP INJECTION 5 ML aids in replenishing your body's iron stores and enabling the production of functional red blood cells. As a result, it helps manage iron deficiency anaemia.

• Store IUP INJECTION 5 ML in the refrigerator or (2°C - 8°C). Do Not Freeze.
• Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, and do not freeze this injection.
• Keep the medicine out of reach and sight of children.
• Use the injection before its expiry date.

• To support red blood cell production, maintain a diet rich in iron. Include poultry, fish, beans, lentils, spinach, and iron-fortified cereals in your meals.
• If you have chronic kidney disease (CKD), manage your sodium intake carefully. Excessive sodium can worsen CKD, so opt for low-sodium foods and avoid adding extra salt to your dishes.
