• Urinary tract infections, which are bacterial infections in any part of your urinary system.

• Respiratory tract infections, including bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis. These are infections that affect your airways and lungs.

• Acute otitis media, a type of middle ear infection.

• Uncomplicated cervical or urethral gonorrhoea, a sexually transmitted infection that affects the cervix in women or the urethra in men.

• Typhoid fever, a severe illness caused by a specific kind of bacteria.

• Consume this medicine with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• Take this medicine at evenly spaced intervals as prescribed by your doctor.

• Continue to take this medicine for the full duration of your prescription, even if your symptoms improve earlier.

Cefkem-200 Tablet is taken orally.

This medicine consists of Cefixime (200 mg), which works as follows:

• Inhibition of Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefixime acts by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. The cell wall is an important structure that provides shape and protection to bacteria.

• Binding to Penicillin-Binding Proteins: Cefixime binds to specific proteins called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) inside the bacterial cell wall. These proteins play a key role in building the cell wall.

• Induction of Cell Lysis: By binding to PBPs and inhibiting cell wall synthesis, cefixime causes the bacterial cells to break down, a process known as cell lysis. This eventually kills the bacteria causing the infection.

• Store your Cefkem-200 Tablet in a cool place, ideally between 20° to 25°C.

• Keep the container tightly closed to protect from moisture and air.

• Remember to keep this medicine away from children's reach.

• Always check the expiry date and use the medicine before it expires.

• Stay hydrated: If you're dealing with urinary tract infections, drinking plenty of fluids can help flush bacteria out of your system.

• Maintain good respiratory hygiene: If you have a respiratory infection, avoid smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke. Regularly clean common areas in your home to reduce bacteria exposure.
