Inflacol Tablet Dr 10

INFLACOL TABLET DR 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis

• Management of active inflammatory bowel disease

• Maintenance of ulcerative colitis remission

• Reduction of colon and rectum inflammation

• Relief of chronic inflammatory intestinal conditions

• Prevention of ulcerative colitis flare-ups

• Control of inflammatory processes in the large intestine

• Long-term management of bowel inflammation

Follow these instructions while taking INFLACOL TABLET DR 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet, as this affects its delayed-release action.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly for the time period advised by your doctor.

• Consult your doctor if you're unsure about how to take this medicine.

INFLACOL TABLET DR 10 is taken orally.

INFLACOL TABLET DR 10 contains mesalazine (400 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibition of Inflammatory Enzymes: Mesalazine blocks certain enzymes, called cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, which are involved in producing inflammatory substances in the body. This helps reduce inflammation in the colon.

• Free Radical Scavenging: This medicine neutralises harmful molecules called free radicals that can damage cells and contribute to inflammation in your digestive tract.

• Regulation of Inflammatory Mediators: Mesalazine interferes with the production of inflammatory substances such as cytokines and chemokines, which cause inflammation in ulcerative colitis.

• Local Action: It works primarily at the site of inflammation in the colon and rectum rather than affecting the entire body, which helps target the treatment where it's needed most.

• Store INFLACOL TABLET DR 10 at room temperature (20°C-25°C). Temperature excursion is permitted from 15°C to 30°C.

• Keep away from light, moisture, and humidity.

• Do not store in bathroom cabinets where humidity may damage the delayed-release coating.

• Keep in original packaging until ready to use.

• Store out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Limit high-fibre foods during flare-ups: During active ulcerative colitis episodes, reducing foods like raw vegetables, nuts, and whole grains may help ease abdominal pain and diarrhoea.

• Stay well-hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to replace fluids lost through diarrhoea and help maintain the protective mucus layer in your colon.
