IMALEK 400 Tablet 6 is used for:

• Managing certain types of blood cancers, such as chronic myeloid leukaemia and acute lymphoblastic leukameia: This includes instances where there's an abnormal increase in white blood cells.
• Controlling the growth of cancerous cells in the stomach and intestines: This refers to gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST), a rare type of cancer.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

IMALEK 400 Tablet 6 is taken orally.

IMALEK 400 Tablet 6 contains Imatinib mesylate (400 mg), which works in your body as follows:

• Tyrosine Kinase inhibition: Imatinib mesylate inhibits specific protein kinases, enzymes that help cells grow and multiply. By inhibiting these kinases, it helps manage abnormal cellular proliferation, slowing down or stopping the progression of certain types of cancer.
• Blocking bcr-abl fusion protein: Imatinib mesylate selectively blocks a protein called bcr-abl fusion protein, which is overactive in some leukaemia cells.
• Inhibiting PDGF and SCF receptors: The medicine also inhibits the receptor tyrosine kinases for platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and stem cell factor (SCF), c-Kit. This action helps control cellular events mediated by these receptors, further aiding in the management of certain cancers.

• Store IMALEK 400 Tablet 6 at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.
