Gliclize M 40 Tablet 10 is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults when a single medicine, diet and exercise are not enough. It is a combination medicine containing gliclazide (a sulfonylurea) and metformin (a biguanide).
It controls blood sugar and helps reduce the long-term risk of complications. Take it with food, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not skip meals, as this can cause low blood sugar. Carry a source of sugar with you.
Eat regular meals with controlled portions of rice, roti and sweets, and stay physically active.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Seek urgent help for severe weakness or breathlessness, which can rarely signal lactic acidosis. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
