SILECTONE 25 TABLET 10 is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure

• Reducing fluid retention in the body

• Treating congestive heart failure

• Managing liver cirrhosis complications

• Helping with nephrotic syndrome

• Treatment of primary hyperaldosteronism

• Decreasing swelling in legs and ankles

• Balancing hormone levels in certain conditions

• Controlling excessive aldosterone production

• Supporting kidney function in specific disorders

Follow these instructions while taking SILECTONE 25 TABLET 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Take it at the same time each day for best results.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Continue taking the medicine even if you feel better.

• If you have trouble swallowing tablets, consult your doctor.

SILECTONE 25 TABLET 10 is taken orally.

This medication contains spironolactone (25 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Aldosterone antagonist: Spironolactone blocks the effects of a hormone called aldosterone, which normally increases sodium and water retention in your kidneys.

• Sodium and water excretion: By blocking aldosterone, this medicine helps your kidneys eliminate excess sodium and water from your body, which reduces fluid buildup and lowers blood pressure.

• Potassium retention: Unlike other diuretics that cause potassium loss, spironolactone helps your body retain potassium, maintaining proper potassium levels in your blood.

• Blood pressure reduction: Through its diuretic effect and hormone-blocking action, spironolactone helps lower blood pressure in people with hypertension.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging in a dry place.

• Protect from direct light and moisture.

• Store in a tightly closed container.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Reduce salt intake: Limiting sodium in your diet helps manage high blood pressure and reduces fluid retention (oedema). Try using herbs and spices instead of salt to flavour your food.
