CompositionGemidro Tablet 1 is used to treat osteoporosis by strengthening bones and slowing bone loss, especially in postmenopausal women. It helps reduce fracture risk and supports long-term skeletal health.

Follow these instructions while taking Gemidro Tablet 1:
Take the tablet with a full glass of plain water.
Swallow the tablet whole without crushing, chewing or dissolving it in your mouth.
Remain upright (sitting or standing) for at least one hour after taking the medicine.
Do not eat or drink anything except water for at least 60 minutes after taking the tablet.
Take this medicine on the same date each month as prescribed by your doctor.

Gemidro Tablet 1 is taken orally.
Gemidro Tablet 1 may cause nausea, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, joint pain, flu-like symptoms, and hypocalcaemia (low calcium levels causing numbness or tingling sensations). Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms persist.
Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and are resolved by discontinuing the use of Gemidro Tablet 1. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.
Here are some tips for managing common side effects:
Heartburn and indigestion: Take Gemidro Tablet 1 first thing in the morning with a full glass of plain water, and remain upright for at least one hour afterwards to reduce these effects.
Nausea: Taking Gemidro Tablet 1 on the same date each month can help your body adjust to the medicine and may reduce feelings of nausea over time.
Gemidro Tablet 1 contains ibandronic acid (150 mg), which works on the body as follows:
Inhibits osteoclast activity: Ibandronic acid works by stopping the action of osteoclasts, which are cells that break down bone tissue. By suppressing these cells, it prevents abnormal bone breakdown.
Restores bone balance: This medicine helps restore the balance between bone formation and bone resorption (breakdown), allowing bones to maintain their strength and density.
Increases bone mass: By preventing further bone loss, ibandronic acid allows for a gradual increase in bone mass over time, helping strengthen weakened bones.
Reduces fracture risk: Through its bone-strengthening actions, the medicine significantly reduces the risk of osteoporotic fractures, particularly in the spine and hip regions.
Gemidro Tablet 1 is warned against use during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, make sure to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.
Caution is advised while taking Gemidro Tablet 1 if you are breastfeeding. It is best to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Take caution when consuming alcohol while taking Gemidro Tablet 1. Alcohol may increase the risk of stomach irritation when used with this medicine.

Calcium supplements: Those products containing calcium carbonate and calcium citrate can interfere with the absorption of Gemidro Tablet 1 when taken simultaneously.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory: Medicines like ibuprofen, diclofenac or aspirin may increase the risk of stomach irritation when taken with Gemidro Tablet 1.
