Febuveda 40 MG Tablet Er 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of chronic gout in adults

• Prevention of gout flares

• Lowering high uric acid levels in blood

• Managing hyperuricaemia associated with cancer treatments

• Reducing uric acid crystal formation in joints

• Preventing kidney problems caused by excess uric acid

Follow these instructions while taking Febuveda 40 MG Tablet Er 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Continue taking the medicine even if you experience gout flares initially.

• Consult your doctor if you have any questions about using this medicine.

Febuveda 40 MG Tablet Er 10 is taken orally.

Febuveda 40 MG Tablet Er 10 contains Febuxostat (40 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Xanthine oxidase inhibition: Febuxostat blocks an enzyme called xanthine oxidase, which is responsible for producing uric acid in your body.

• Uric acid reduction: By inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme, febuxostat effectively lowers the production of uric acid, reducing its levels in your bloodstream.

• Crystal formation prevention: Lower uric acid levels help prevent the formation of urate crystals in joints and tissues, which are the primary cause of painful gout attacks.

• Kidney protection: By reducing uric acid levels, febuxostat helps prevent kidney damage that can occur from high uric acid concentrations and crystal deposits in the kidneys.

• Store Febuveda 40 MG Tablet Er 10 at room temperature 30°C.

• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight and protect it from moisture.

• Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water (8-10 glasses daily) to help flush excess uric acid from your body and reduce the risk of gout attacks.

• Limit purine-rich foods: Reduce intake of red meat, organ meats, and certain seafood, as these foods can raise uric acid levels and worsen gout symptoms.
