Erythro-250 Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the chest, skin, throat, teeth and reproductive organs. It is also used to help prevent infection of the heart lining (endocarditis) before certain procedures in people allergic to penicillin.

It contains erythromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. It works by blocking the proteins bacteria need to grow, which stops them multiplying.

Take it as prescribed, and complete the full course to help prevent the infection returning.

Tell your doctor about any liver or heart-rhythm problems before use, and about other medicines you take, as erythromycin interacts with several. Report yellowing of the skin, or a fast or irregular heartbeat.
