Ebast DC Tablet is used to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes. It also treats nasal congestion caused by allergies or the common cold and helps with sinusitis, an inflammation of the sinuses. Additionally, it provides relief from itchy and watery eyes caused by allergies.

Swallow Ebast DC Tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
Take this tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication

Ebast DC Tablet is taken orally.

The common side effects of Ebast DC Tablet include:

Drowsiness
Headache
Nausea
Dry mouth
Vomiting
Nervousness

Managing the Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary, generally harmless, and resolve upon stopping the use of Ebast DC Tablet. However, if you experience serious side effects or worsening of any symptoms, notify your doctor. Here are some suggestions to manage side effects:

Nausea and vomiting: To reduce the severity of these side effects, try taking this tablet with food or milk.
Dizziness: If dizziness occurs, consider taking this medicine at night to minimise disruptions.

Ebast DC Tablet contains the following components:

Ebastine (10 mg): It is an antihistamine medication that works by blocking the effects of histamine, a substance released by the body in response to an allergic reaction. Histamine causes symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and runny nose. By blocking the effects of histamine, Ebastine can reduce or relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride (10 mg): Phenylephrine is a decongestant that constricts blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing inflammation and swelling to alleviate nasal congestion and aid breathing.

Pregnancy

Ebast DC Tablet is not recommended in pregnancy due to the risk of foetal harm. Do not take this tablet during pregnancy until prescribed by a doctor.

Breastfeeding

Ebast DC Tablet is not recommended during breastfeeding. Inform your doctor before this tablet is prescribed to you.

Alcohol

It is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking Ebast DC Tablet. Alcohol can add to dizziness due to Ebast DC Tablet.

Liver

Ebast DC Tablet should be cautiously used in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustments may be required in patients with liver disease. If you have a severe liver problem, consult your doctor about the dose before taking this tablet.

Kidney

Ebast DC Tablet should be cautiously used in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustments may be required in patients with kidney disease. If you have a severe kidney problem, consult your doctor about the dose before taking this tablet

Using Machines & Driving

You may experience dizziness after taking Ebast DC Tablet. Avoid doing any attentive task if you experience dizziness after taking this tablet.

Allergy

Allergic reactions to Ebast DC Tablet are rare. But, if you are allergic to this tablet's ingredients, you should not take it. To avoid allergic reactions, read the label and check the ingredients

Children

Ebast DC is not intended to be used in children under 12

Older Patients

Older patients may be more susceptible to the side effects of Ebast DC Tablet. Also, older adults may take other medications that can interact with this tablet. Make sure to inform your doctor before taking Ebast DC Tablets

Antifungal Agents such as Ketoconazole: Ketoconazole may enhance the blood levels of Ebastine, increasing the risk of side effects like dizziness or drowsiness.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors such as Isocarboxazid: Co-administration may lead to hypertensive crises due to the interaction of phenylephrine with MAOIs.
Antibiotics such as Linezolid: When combined with phenylephrine, linezolid may increase blood pressure significantly.
Tricyclic Antidepressants such as Amitriptyline: Concurrent use can amplify side effects like dizziness, dry mouth, or an irregular heartbeat due to enhanced anticholinergic activity.
Cardiac Glycoside such as Digoxin: Phenylephrine may reduce the efficacy of digoxin by increasing vascular resistance, straining the heart.
Antianginal agents such as Glyceryl Trinitrate: Phenylephrine can counteract the effects of glyceryl trinitrate, potentially reducing its effectiveness in managing chest pain.
Beta-blockers such as Atenolol: Phenylephrine may reduce the antihypertensive effect of atenolol, leading to elevated blood pressure.

Ebast DC Tablet is not known to interact with any foods.

Over Dose

Missed Dose
