This medicine works by reducing the urge to cough through its action on the airways, while the antihistamine eases sneezing, a runny nose and watery eyes. Measure the dose with the measuring cup provided and keep the bottle capped after each use. It is best taken with meals.
Drink plenty of warm fluids and sip water often to soothe your throat. Avoid smoke, dust and other irritants, and avoid alcohol, as it increases drowsiness.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, severe high blood pressure, asthma, COPD, or liver or kidney problems, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you take other medicines, especially sedatives or other antihistamines. It can cause drowsiness and dizziness, so take care when driving or using machinery. It is not recommended for children under 2 years. Seek medical help if your cough lasts longer than a week, or if you have fever, breathlessness, a rash or a headache that does not go away.
