Dianorm-OD 60 Tablet is primarily used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It belongs to the sulphonylurea class of antidiabetic medicines and contains gliclazide in a once-daily modified-release formulation.
Gliclazide works by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin gradually and steadily through the day, in response to rising blood sugar after meals, helping to keep glucose levels within a healthier range.
Take this tablet daily with breakfast, swallowing it whole without crushing or chewing, since crushing can disrupt the modified-release action.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, are elderly, or have missed meals recently, as these increase the risk of hypoglycaemia. Learn to recognise low blood sugar symptoms, such as sweating, shakiness or confusion.
