CompositionCoughmate Syrup is used for short-term relief of dry cough, nasal congestion, and throat irritation caused by the common cold or allergies.
It combines chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine that reduces sneezing and a runny nose, dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant, and phenylephrine, a decongestant that eases a blocked nose. Give it using the measuring cup provided, in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Plenty of fluids, rest, and a humidifier or steam inhalation help loosen congestion and soothe the throat alongside this medicine.
This medicine is not suitable for very young children and should only be given as directed by a doctor. Tell your doctor about any history of high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, or urinary retention. Do not use it for longer than advised, and speak to your doctor if symptoms do not improve.
