Clotrin-AC Ear Drops are used to manage fungal ear infections, specifically otomycosis, caused by Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. They provide relief from itching, pain, inflammation, and discharge while improving hearing impairment caused by the fungal infection, helping to restore ear health.

Use Clotrin-AC Ear Drops as suggested below:

• Clean and dry the external part of your affected ear before use.

• Tilt your head sideways and carefully instil the ear drops into the affected ear.

• Stay in this position for about 5 minutes to allow the drops to penetrate deep into your ear canal.

• Repeat this process as per your doctor's advice. Remember, it's important to consult your doctor for specific instructions on how to use these ear drops.

Clotrin-AC Ear Drops are instilled topically into the ear.

Clotrin-AC Ear Drops contains two active ingredients:

• Clotrimazole (1%): This component acts as an antifungal agent. Its function is to inhibit the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. By doing so, clotrimazole increases cell membrane permeability, leading to leakage of cellular contents and eventually causing cell death, thus preventing further fungal growth.

• Lidocaine (2%): An amide-type local anaesthetic, lidocaine stabilises neuronal membranes and stops initiation and transmission of nerve impulses responsible for pain sensation. It achieves this by reversibly blocking sodium channels, which inhibits depolarization.

• Sodium Methyl Paraben (0.05%): This is a preservative used in Clotrin Ac Ear Drops to prevent microbial growth and contamination. It helps maintain the sterility and effectiveness of the medication by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold.

• Propyl Paraben (0.01%): This is a preservative that prevents microbial growth and contamination in the ear drops. It helps maintain the medication's sterility and effectiveness by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold.

• Store Clotrin-AC Ear Drops in a cool and dry place, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the drops away from direct light and excessive heat.

• Do not allow the medicine to freeze.

• Ensure the bottle is tightly sealed when not in use.
