Cheston Duo New Mixed Fruit Flavour Syrup 100ml is used to provide soothing relief from a dry, tickly, or "hacking" cough that doesn't produce any phlegm. It is particularly effective for coughs triggered by seasonal allergies or the tail-end of a common cold. The ginger-lemon flavor helps coat the throat, reducing the irritation that triggers the coughing reflex.
This syrup contains Levodropropizine, a peripheral cough suppressant, and Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine. Levodropropizine works on the cough receptors in the respiratory tract (not the brain) to reduce the intensity and frequency of coughs, while Chlorpheniramine helps reduce allergic symptoms like irritation and sneezing.
Measure the dose carefully and take it as prescribed, usually three times a day. It is most effective when taken after food. Inform your doctor if the cough persists for more than 7 days or is accompanied by a high fever or thick yellow mucus. Avoid giving this to very young children unless specifically directed by a pediatrician.
