Cefor 250mg Injection 1 is used to manage bacterial infections of the chest, urinary tract, skin, bones and brain.

Uses of Cefor 250mg Injection 1 are:

• Respiratory and Urinary Infections: Manages respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, and urinary tract infections.
• Skin, Bone and Abdominal Infections: Manages skin and soft tissue, bone and joint, and intra-abdominal infections.
• Serious Infections: Manages central nervous system infections such as meningitis, and blood infections such as septicaemia.
• Pelvic and Surgical Use: Used for gonorrhoea, pelvic inflammatory disease and to prevent post-operative infections.

• This medicine needs to be administered by a healthcare professional.

• It is either given by deep intramuscular injection or intravenous infusion.

• If administered intramuscularly, it should be injected into a large muscle, such as the upper outer quadrant of the buttock.

• For intravenous infusion, it is typically given for 30 minutes.

Cefor 250mg Injection 1 contains ceftriaxone (250 mg) as the active ingredient. It works in the human body in the following manner:

• Ceftriaxone acts by inhibiting the formation of the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall. Peptidoglycan is the main component in bacterial cell walls that gives them strength and rigidity.

• By blocking peptidoglycan synthesis, ceftriaxone weakens the cell wall, causing the bacterial cell to break open or lyse, leading to the bacteria's death.

• Store Cefor 250mg Injection 1 vials at a stable room temperature, below 25°C.

• Keep it away from direct light.

• Ensure the vial is securely sealed to avoid exposure to air and moisture.
