Calinta Kit is used to prevent and manage osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, as well as to manage hypocalcaemia and metabolic bone disease in dialysis patients.

Uses of Calinta Kit Tablet are:

• Osteoporosis: Prevents and manages osteoporosis in postmenopausal women by strengthening bones.
• Hypocalcaemia: Manages low blood calcium and metabolic bone disease in dialysis patients.

• Take one tablet once a month on the same date.

• Always take the tablet on an empty stomach; wait for at least 60 minutes before consuming any food, drink, or other medication.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water while sitting or standing upright. Avoid lying down for 60 minutes after taking the medicine.

• If you are also taking calcium, iron, vitamins, or antacids, ensure they are consumed at a different time of day to avoid interfering with the absorption of this medicine.

Calinta Kit is taken orally.

The Calinta Kit contains four active ingredients that work together:

• Calcitriol/Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) (0.00025 mg): This ingredient helps your body absorb calcium from your diet and reclaim it from your kidneys. By doing so, it prevents bone loss that can occur due to vitamin D3 deficiency.

• Elemental Calcium (500 mg): Calcium is the main mineral found in your bones. Providing supplemental calcium helps strengthen your bones especially when dietary intake is not sufficient.

• Ibandronate (150 mg): Belonging to the bisphosphonate class of medicines, ibandronate slows down bone loss and increases bone mineral density by inhibiting cells called osteoclasts that break down bone.

• Zinc (20 mg): Zinc plays a vital role in bone metabolism and mineralisation. A lack of zinc has been linked to conditions like osteoporosis.

• Keep the Calinta Kit at room temperature, ideally between 20°C and 25°C.

• Safeguard it from light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.

• Always store this medicine out of reach of children.

• Ensure you use the tablets before the expiry date on the pack.

• To support strong bones, ensure your diet is rich in calcium. Dairy products, leafy greens, and fish like salmon or sardines are excellent sources.

• Adequate sunlight exposure is key for Vitamin D production, which aids calcium absorption. Aim for 15 minutes of sun exposure daily, but be mindful of skin protection
