This medicine works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals like adrenaline on the heart and blood vessels, helping lower the heart rate and relax the blood vessels, which reduces the workload on the heart and lowers the risk of future heart attacks. The extended-release mechanism ensures the medicine is released slowly into the body, providing consistent 24-hour protection, and is also used for managing irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias). This tablet should be taken at the same time every day as prescribed by your doctor.
Do not stop taking the medication suddenly, as this can lead to a sudden rise in blood pressure or chest pain. Consult your doctor if you experience symptoms like a very slow pulse, dizziness, or cold hands and feet.
