Alkapil Syrup 100 ML contains Disodium Hydrogen Citrate (1.53 gm), which works on the body as follows:

• Formation of Sodium and Citrate Ions: Upon consumption, Disodium Hydrogen Citrate disintegrates in the body into sodium ions and citrate ions.
• Absorption and Excretion: The citrate ions get absorbed into the bloodstream and are eventually excreted in the urine.
• Alkalinising Effect: In the urinary tract, the citrate ions combine with hydrogen ions, effectively raising the pH level of urine.
• Inhibits Bacterial Growth: The raised pH level of urine creates an unfavourable environment for bacteria that cause UTIs, thereby inhibiting their growth.
• Prevents Kidney Stone Formation: By increasing urine pH, it reduces the risk of kidney stone formation by enhancing the solubility of stone-forming minerals like uric acid and cystine.
