Alaquin 200 Mg Tablet 15 is used to prevent and treat uncomplicated malaria and to manage certain long-term autoimmune conditions. It is a single-ingredient disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) containing hydroxychloroquine.
It is used in rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) as well as in malaria. Take it with food or milk, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. In long-term conditions it may take some weeks to show its full effect.
Protect your skin from strong sun, have regular eye checks and attend your review appointments.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have eye or retinal problems, liver or kidney disease or a heart rhythm disorder, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report any change in vision, such as blurring or difficulty seeing colours, promptly. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
