CompositionActicort 5 Tablet is used to reduce inflammation and calm an overactive immune system in conditions affecting the joints, skin, eyes, lungs, blood and other body systems. It is a single-ingredient corticosteroid medicine containing prednisolone.
It reduces inflammation and calms the immune response. Take it with food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly after longer use, as the dose usually needs to be reduced gradually.
Eat less salt (pickles, papad, chips) and sugary foods, and get enough calcium and vitamin D (milk, curd, ragi) to protect your bones.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have any infection, diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers or osteoporosis, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Avoid contact with people who have chickenpox or measles if you have not had them. Long-term use can affect blood sugar, bone strength and blood pressure. Report signs of infection. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
