Acitrom 3 Tablet 30

Acitrom 3 Tablet is used in adults to prevent and treat dangerous blood clots, including DVT, pulmonary embolism and stroke risk in high-risk cardiovascular conditions.

Uses of Acitrom 3 Tablet are:

• DVT and Pulmonary Embolism: Prevents and treats deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
• Stroke Prevention: Reduces stroke risk in atrial fibrillation and prevents clot formation with mechanical heart valves.
• Clot Prevention: Prevents harmful clot formation in high-risk adults.

While taking Acitrom 3 Tablet, please follow these instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Avoid chewing or crushing it.

• Keep consistent with the time you take your medicine each day. It can be taken with or without food.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• If you plan on discontinuing this medicine, always consult your doctor first.

Acitrom 3 Tablet is taken orally.

Acitrom 3 Tablet contains Nicoumalone (3 mg), which functions in your body as follows:

• Inhibits Vitamin K-dependent Clotting Factors: Nicoumalone works by blocking the synthesis of certain proteins in your liver that are dependent on vitamin K. These include clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X.

• Reduces Blood Clot Formation: By restricting these clotting factors, Nicoumalone effectively increases the time it takes for blood to clot. This action reduces the risk of unwanted blood clot formation within your body.

• Store Acitrom 3 Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15 and 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.

• Retain the tablets in their original packaging until it's time to take them.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Be sure to use the medication before the expiry date printed on the package.

• Maintain a consistent diet, especially when it comes to foods high in vitamin K like green leafy vegetables. These can affect how Acitrom 3 Tablet works in your body.

• Limit alcohol consumption. Alcohol can increase your risk of bleeding, an unwanted side effect of Acitrom 3 Tablet.
