Abd 400 Tablet is used to treat parasitic worm infections such as roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms, and more serious conditions such as neurocysticercosis and hydatid disease.

Uses of Abd 400 Tablet are:

• Intestinal Worm Infections: Treats roundworm, hookworm, pinworm, and whipworm infections.
• Tapeworm Infections: Treats infections caused by tapeworms.
• Neurocysticercosis: Targets larvae responsible for cyst formation in the brain.
• Hydatid Disease: Treats cysts formed in organs such as the liver and lungs.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• If you have difficulty swallowing it whole, you can crush or chew the tablet before swallowing it with water.
• Always take the medicine in the dosage and frequency prescribed by your doctor.
• Continue taking this medicine for the full duration prescribed by your doctor, even if you start to feel better.

Abd 400 Chewable Tablet 1 contains albendazole (400 mg) as the active ingredient. It works in the human body in the following manner:

• Albendazole works by blocking a process called tubulin polymerisation in the larval forms of certain parasites. This process is crucial for the formation of cytoplasmic microtubules, which are small structures inside parasites' cells.
• By inhibiting tubulin polymerisation, albendazole impairs glucose uptake in these parasites, depleting their energy stores. Thus, it is difficult for the parasites to survive and grow.

• Store Abd 400 Chewable Tablet 1 at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.
• Protect it from light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.
