A-Ret Gel is typically used for:

• Managing acne vulgaris: This medicine helps in managing pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads that occur when the hair follicles get clogged with dead skin cells and oil.

• Smoothing rough facial skin: It helps enhance the texture of the facial skin making it feel smoother.

• Reducing fine wrinkles: Regular application of this gel can help in reducing the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles on the face.

• Enhancing healing of sun-damaged skin: If your skin is damaged due to prolonged exposure to the sun, this gel can aid in its recovery.

• Managing acute promyelocytic leukaemia: It is also used to manage this specific type of blood cancer.

Apply A-Ret Gel as follows:

• Ensure your skin is clean and dry before application.

• Apply a thin layer of the gel once daily, preferably at bedtime.

• Avoid contact with your eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.

• Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the gel.

• Remember, during the initial weeks of use, your acne may appear to worsen as the medication works on lesions forming beneath the skin surface. Improvements are usually seen after 8–12 weeks of regular use.

A-Ret Gel contains Tretinoin (0.1%), which acts on your body as follows:

• Modifies Abnormal Follicular Keratinisation: Tretinoin works by changing abnormal keratinisation processes in follicles – basically, it helps keep pores on your skin surface unclogged.

• Reduces Oil Production: Tretinoin reduces the secretion of oil by your skin, helping to prevent acne development.

• Promotes Cell Turnover: By stimulating cell turnover – which means it speeds up how fast skin cells are replaced – Tretinoin aids in pushing out the comedones (commonly known as blackheads and whiteheads) that contribute to acne.

By acting in these ways, Tretinoin helps manage acne and improve overall skin health.

• Keep A-Ret Gel in a cool and dry place where the temperature stays below 25°C.

• Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and heat, as it can affect the medicine's effectiveness.

• Always keep the tube tightly closed to prevent air or moisture from entering.

• Ensure the medicine is kept out of reach of children.

• To manage acne effectively, try to maintain a low glycaemic diet. Foods with a high glycaemic index can spike your blood sugar levels, leading to increased oil production and worsening acne.

• Practise regular skin hygiene. Gently clean your face twice a day using mild soap or cleanser. Aggressive scrubbing can irritate your skin and aggravate acne; hence, ensure gentle application.
