Shield 0.5/0.25/3/5 % Ointment 15 GM

Shield 0.5/0.25/3/5 % Ointment is used for managing anal fissures, haemorrhoids (piles), and anal pruritus. It also assists pre- and post-operative care during anorectal examinations and proctologic surgery. Haemorrhoids represent inflamed veins in the rectum and anus that cause discomfort, pain, and bleeding. Anal fissures are small tears in the mucosa lining the anus that create pain and irritation during or after bowel movements. 

• Allantoin (0.5%): Allantoin soothes the skin and promotes tissue repair. It assists in decreasing pain and discomfort by constricting blood vessels in the affected area. It supports the healing of irritated or inflamed tissue and strengthens the resilience of skin.
   
• Hydrocortisone Acetate (0.25%): Hydrocortisone reduces redness, itching, and swelling in affected areas. It manages inflammation and calms hypersensitive skin responses. It helps relieve discomfort and irritation associated with haemorrhoids and fissures.
   
• Lidocaine / Lignocaine (3%): Lidocaine blocks pain signals from nerves to the brain. It relieves the sensation of pain in sensitive areas and provides localised numbing. It helps improve comfort during bowel movements and daily activities.
   
• Zinc Oxide (5%): Zinc oxide acts as an astringent and antiseptic. It manages moisture and strengthens the skin’s protective barrier. It helps soothe and protect affected tissue from further irritation.
   
• Other Ingredients: Ointment Base. 

• Relieves Pain and Discomfort: Shield Ointment contains Lidocaine (3%), which provides localised numbing action and reduces the sensation of pain in sensitive anal regions. It manages discomfort caused by haemorrhoids and fissures effectively by calming nerve sensitivity. 
   
• Supports Skin Repair: The presence of Allantoin (0.5%) assists in the natural repair of skin tissue. It soothes irritation, softens damaged skin, and promotes a smoother recovery process.
   
• Reduces Redness and Swelling: The ingredient Hydrocortisone Acetate (0.25%) plays a role in lowering visible redness, swelling, and itching. It calms skin inflammation and provides relief from soreness around fissures and haemorrhoids. 
   
• Skin Barrier: Shield Ointment contains Zinc Oxide (5%), which strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier. It reduces further irritation by shielding the affected area from excess moisture and external irritants.

• Apply the prescribed amount using the applicator onto the rectal area.
• Wash your hands after application.
