Ztexel Injection 1

Ztexel Injection 1 is used for the following:

• Treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer

• Second-line therapy for advanced prostate cancer

• Management of prostate cancer after docetaxel treatment

• Cancer care when hormone therapy stops working

• Treatment when cancer spreads beyond the prostate

• Management of cancer resistant to first-line treatments

• Care for patients with bone metastasis from prostate cancer

• Treatment for cancer that has spread to other organs

• Management of prostate cancer unresponsive to other treatments

Follow these instructions when Ztexel Injection 1 is administered:

• This medicine must be administered only by a trained healthcare professional in a clinical setting.

• The injection is given as an intravenous infusion over one hour.

• Your doctor will calculate the exact dose based on your body measurements.

• Regular blood tests will be conducted to monitor your response to the treatment.

• Consult your doctor if you have any questions about your treatment plan.

Ztexel Injection 1 is administered intravenously.

Ztexel Injection 1 contains cabazitaxel (60 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Disrupts microtubule function: Cabazitaxel binds to tubulin proteins within cells, preventing them from forming proper microtubule structures essential for cell division.

• Prevents cancer cell division: By interfering with microtubule structures, cabazitaxel prevents cancer cells from dividing properly, leading to their death.

• Overcomes resistance mechanisms: Unlike some other chemotherapy medicines, cabazitaxel can overcome certain resistance mechanisms that cancer cells develop against other taxane medications.

• Store Ztexel Injection 1 in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C.

• Keep the vial in its original packaging to protect it from light.

• Never freeze the injection.

• Store all medicines out of sight and reach of children.

• Check the expiry date and do not use it after this date.

• Follow healthcare facility protocols for proper handling of chemotherapy medicines.

• Maintain good nutrition during prostate cancer treatment by eating small, frequent meals rich in protein (such as eggs, chicken, and fish) to help your body recover from treatment sessions.

• Avoid people with infections or illnesses while receiving cabazitaxel therapy, as this medicine can lower your white blood cells, making you more susceptible to infections.
