Aritoz 1 Mg Tablet 14 is used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing anastrozole, and belongs to a class of medicines called aromatase inhibitors.
This medicine works by lowering oestrogen levels in the body, which helps slow or stop the growth of cancer cells that depend on this hormone. It is used to treat early-stage breast cancer as well as advanced breast cancer that has spread within the breast or to other parts of the body. Take this medicine at the same time each day, with or without food, in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor, often for several years as part of ongoing care.
Getting enough calcium and vitamin D through diet or supplements, doing regular weight-bearing exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol can help protect bone and heart health while you are on this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any liver or kidney problems, osteoporosis, or other medicines you are taking, before starting this medicine. This medicine is not suitable if you have not yet reached menopause, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report any unusual joint pain, bone pain or signs of an allergic reaction to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
