Zenoxa Suspension is used to manage partial seizures (fits starting in one part of the brain) in children with epilepsy. It contains oxcarbazepine, an anti-epileptic medicine, used alone or alongside other anti-epileptic medicines to reduce how often seizures occur.
Give the suspension by mouth as prescribed by your child's doctor; shake well before use and measure the dose with the measuring device provided. Continue giving it regularly, even when your child is seizure-free, as stopping suddenly can cause seizures to return or worsen; your doctor will advise on stopping safely if ever needed.
Keeping a seizure diary to record frequency and triggers, ensuring your child has regular sleep, and avoiding known seizure triggers such as flashing lights or missed doses can help support seizure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your child's doctor about any kidney problems, low blood sodium levels, or previous allergic reaction to carbamazepine before starting this medicine. Report excessive sleepiness, unusual behaviour changes, skin rash, or worsening seizures to the doctor promptly.
