Vokem GM 1/500/0.2 MG Tablet 10 is used to treat type 2 diabetes by controlling high blood sugar levels. It helps improve insulin sensitivity and reduce glucose production in the body.

Vokem GM 1/500/0.2 MG Tablet 10 consists of three active ingredients:

• Glimepiride (1 mg): As a sulfonylurea, it stimulates insulin secretion from functioning pancreatic beta cells by binding to their surface receptors. This activity promotes an increase in intracellular calcium that triggers insulin secretion.

• Metformin (500 mg): This biguanide reduces glucose production by the liver, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by enhancing peripheral glucose absorption and utilisation. It activates a liver enzyme known as AMPK to regulate these processes.

• Voglibose (0.2 mg): It is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that slows down carbohydrate digestion and absorption within the intestines. This action helps reduce post-meal glucose and insulin levels.
