Vertia 8 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Management of Ménière's syndrome symptoms: This medicine is utilised to manage the symptoms of this inner ear disorder, which can cause vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, and a feeling of pressure in the ear.

• Reduction in vertigo attacks: Vertia 8 Tablet 10 helps to decrease the frequency and severity of vertigo attacks associated with Ménière's syndrome.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• The medicine should be taken as per your doctor's instructions.

• It is important not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Vertia 8 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Vertia 8 Tablet 10 contains betahistine (8 mg) and works in two key ways:

• H3 receptor antagonist: Betahistine has a strong affinity for H3 receptors and acts as an antagonist to these receptors. This means it increases the release of histamine within your body, leading to vasodilation or widening of blood vessels. This improves blood flow, particularly in your inner ear.

• H1 receptor stimulation: Betahistine also works on H1 receptors located in the blood vessels of your inner ear. When these receptors are stimulated, they cause vasodilation and increased permeability, helping manage pressure and fluid balance within your ear.

  Together, these actions help manage the overproduction of endolymph fluid - a common factor in Ménière's disease - thereby reducing symptoms such as vertigo, tinnitus and hearing loss.
