Tricium PTH Injection is a medicine used to treat osteoporosis in adults who are at high risk of bone fractures. It helps strengthen bones and increase bone mineral density to lower the risk of spine and non-spine fractures.
It contains teriparatide, an anabolic agent that stimulates new bone formation. It is administered as an injection under the skin as prescribed by your doctor. It is important to receive this medicine regularly and continue the treatment course for the full duration advised by your healthcare specialist.
Adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D through diet or supplements supports your bone health during treatment. Your doctor may advise on appropriate lifestyle changes, including weight-bearing exercises and avoiding smoking or excessive alcohol consumption.
Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, hypercalcaemia (high blood calcium levels), bone diseases, or are taking other medicines. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Regular blood and urine calcium monitoring may be advised.
