Timolen Eye Drops 5ml are used for the following:

• Managing open-angle glaucoma

• Reducing elevated intraocular pressure

• Protecting vision in patients with glaucoma

• Maintaining healthy eye pressure levels

• Preventing blindness from untreated glaucoma

Follow these instructions when using Timolen Eye Drops 5ml:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before instilling the drops.

• Remove contact lenses before instillation and wait 15 minutes before reinserting them.

• Tilt your head backwards and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the bottle above your eye without touching any part of your eye.

• Squeeze one drop into the pocket created by your lower eyelid.

• Close your eyes gently for 1-2 minutes after instillation.

• Press lightly on the inner corner of your eye for about a minute to prevent drainage.

• Wipe away any excess solution with a clean tissue.

Timolen Eye Drops 5ml are instilled topically.

Timolen Eye Drops 5ml contain two active ingredients:

• Timolol (0.5%): As a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist, timolol works by decreasing the production of aqueous humour, which is the clear fluid that circulates inside your eye. This reduction in fluid formation effectively lowers the pressure within the eye.

• Oxychloro Complex (0.005%): This component serves as a stabilising agent in the formulation. It helps maintain the sterility and effectiveness of the solution without the harmful effects typically associated with traditional preservatives, making it gentler on the eye surface during long-term use.

• Store Timolen Eye Drops 5ml at room temperature below 30°C.

• Protect the bottle from direct light and moisture.

• Close the container tightly when not in use.

• Once opened, use within 4 weeks to maintain sterility.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Maintain regular physical activity like walking, which may help reduce intraocular pressure (the pressure inside your eye).

• Consider including foods rich in antioxidants in your diet, including dark green leafy vegetables and colourful fruits, which support overall eye health.
