Thyrosec 50 Mcg Tablet 100 is used to treat hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormone. It contains levothyroxine, a synthetic thyroid hormone.
This medicine restores normal thyroid hormone levels and is sometimes used in the management of certain types of thyroid cancer. Take it exactly as directed by your doctor, preferably on an empty stomach, well before breakfast, and swallow it with water.
Taking this medicine at a consistent time each day, away from calcium, iron supplements or antacids, helps ensure steady absorption and effective control of your thyroid levels.
Tell your doctor about any heart conditions, adrenal gland problems or other medicines and supplements you are taking before starting. Regular blood tests are usually needed to check your thyroid levels and adjust your dose. Report palpitations, chest pain, excessive sweating or unexplained weight loss to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
