Tazin 2000/250 MG Injection 1 is administered intravenously.

Tazin 2000/250 MG Injection 1 contains two active ingredients:

• Piperacillin (2000 mg): This is a semisynthetic extended-spectrum penicillin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It does this by binding to and inactivating certain enzymes known as penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are crucial for the formation and maintenance of the bacterial cell wall. When these PBPs are inhibited, it leads to the weakening of the cell wall, causing eventual rupture and death of the bacteria.

• Tazobactam (250 mg): This component is a beta lactamase inhibitor. Its main job is to protect piperacillin from being broken down by certain enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. Although tazobactam has minimal antibacterial activity by itself, when combined with piperacillin it extends its spectrum to include many bacteria that would otherwise be resistant.
