Tambac 200 Dt Tablet 10

Tambac 200 Dt Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the chest, urinary tract, skin and ear.

Uses of Tambac 200 Dt Tablet are:

• Respiratory Tract Infections: Helps manage bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and sinusitis.
• Urinary Tract Infections: Helps manage infections of the urinary tract, including cystitis and pyelonephritis.
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Helps control infections such as cellulitis, wound infections and abscesses.
• Other Infections: Helps manage gonorrhoea, cervicitis and acute middle ear infection.

• Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.
• Remember not to take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
• It's crucial to continue taking this medicine as advised by your doctor, even if you start feeling better.

Tambac 200 Dt Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Tambac 200 Dt Tablet 10 contains cefpodoxime proxetil (200 mg), which works in the body as follows:

• Inhibits cell wall synthesis: Cefpodoxime disrupts the production of the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls, which provides strength and rigidity to the cells.
• Binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs): PBPs are enzymes involved in assembling the peptidoglycan layer. Cefpodoxime binds to these proteins, effectively inhibiting their function.
• Induces cell lysis: By weakening the peptidoglycan layer through PBP inhibition, cefpodoxime causes bacterial cells to rupture or lyse due to internal pressure.
• Broad spectrum action: Unlike earlier cephalosporins, cefpodoxime is effective against a wider range of gram-negative bacteria due to its stability in the presence of many beta-lactamases.
