Tacrenolime 2.0 Capsule 10 is used for the following:

• Prevention of organ rejection after kidney transplantation

• Prevention of organ rejection after liver transplantation

• Prevention of organ rejection after heart transplantation

• Management of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis

• Suppression of immune system activity in autoimmune conditions

• Reduction of transplant-related complications

• Management of steroid-resistant inflammatory conditions

Follow these instructions while taking Tacrenolime 2.0 Capsule 10:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.

• Take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your blood.

Tacrenolime 2.0 Capsule 10 is taken orally.

Tacrenolime 2.0 Capsule 10 contains tacrolimus (2 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Calcineurin inhibition: Tacrolimus blocks an enzyme called calcineurin, which plays a crucial role in activating T-cells in your immune system.

• Reduced T-cell activation: By inhibiting calcineurin, tacrolimus prevents T-lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) from becoming fully activated, which would otherwise attack the transplanted organ.

• Decreased cytokine production: The medicine reduces the production of interleukin-2 and other inflammatory substances called cytokines that stimulate immune responses.

• Transplant protection: Through these actions, tacrolimus prevents your immune system from recognising and attacking the transplanted organ as foreign tissue.

• Store Tacrenolime 2.0 Capsule 10 at room temperature.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging to protect it from light and moisture.

• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• As tacrolimus increases your risk of skin cancer, wear protective clothing and apply high-SPF sunscreen when outdoors. Limit direct sun exposure, especially between 10 am and 4 pm.

• Since this medicine suppresses your immune system, avoid close contact with people who have active infections and wash your hands frequently.
