Swich 200 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, skin, soft tissues, ears, and urinary tract. It is also used to manage typhoid fever.
It belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins, which work by stopping bacteria from forming a protective cell wall. Take the tablet as prescribed and complete the full course, even if your symptoms improve early, to help prevent the infection returning.
Staying well hydrated and eating a balanced diet can support your body's recovery while the antibiotic clears the infection. This medicine is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu, so it should only be used as prescribed for bacterial infections.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney problems or a known allergy to cephalosporin or penicillin-type antibiotics. Contact your doctor straight away if you notice swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.
