Supiroban Ointment 5gm

Supiroban Ointment 5gm treats bacterial skin infections like impetigo, boils, infected cuts, and minor wounds. It contains mupirocin, which stops the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus. This ointment clears redness, pus, and infections quickly, promoting faster healing and preventing bacterial spread.

• Before applying the ointment, ensure the affected skin area is clean and dry.
• Apply a small amount of the ointment to the infected area using your fingertip or a clean cotton swab.
• The ointment should be applied two to three times daily or as directed by your doctor.
• You can cover the treated area with a sterile gauze dressing if deemed necessary.
• Remember to wash your hands before and after applying the ointment to prevent spreading of the infection.

Supiroban Ointment 5gm contains mupirocin (2%), which works on the body in the following ways:

• Isoleucyl-tRNA Synthetase Inhibition: Mupirocin works by reversibly binding to an enzyme present in bacteria called isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase. This enzyme plays a crucial role in bacterial protein synthesis.
• Halting Protein Synthesis: By binding to the isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, mupirocin interferes with the incorporation of a specific amino acid called isoleucine into bacterial proteins, effectively stopping protein synthesis.
• Killing Susceptible Bacteria: Due to its unique action, mupirocin exhibits bactericidal activity against susceptible bacteria at the concentrations reached after topical application.

• Store Supiroban Ointment 5gm at room temperature, ideally between 15°C and 25°C
• Keep it safe from heat and direct light
• Keep the tube tightly shut when not in use to avoid exposure to air and moisture
