• Ergot-containing migraine medicines (e.g., ergotamine, dihydroergotamine): Taking these medicines within 24 hours of sumatriptan may increase the risk of severe blood vessel narrowing, chest pain, or circulation-related complications. Doctors usually advise avoiding combined use within 24 hours.
